Been a while!

Ah, Samaire Armstrong. Truly a wonderful woman, gaining cult star status as "Anna Stern" in the O.C. Our lives haven't been the same since..

What could I possibly promote today? Well, how about some japanese music again? This time by Puffy AmiYumi, yes the cartoon that runs in the morning and very famous in Japan. Very funky, happy, rock and roll. Even if I can't comprehend most of what is being sung, it's still very catchy. Hope you'll enjoy it. And yes, it featured in Gossip Girl.

Hero Stai-leee!

Hayden Panettiere. ..I wish I was a hula-hoop, spinnin' in the aaaaaiiir..

There's a good thing coming out of Sweden these days and that is Lykke Li. A girl with an interesting voice, electronica-inspired and very catchy. Her music video "Little Bit" is even
running on MTV. fun stuff. not much to know about her yet,
but she backed up the "Shout-Out Louds" @ John Dee in
November and hopefully will be back as a solo-act in Norway.

..please enjoy her..

JPN!

Namie Amuro, was recently number 1 on Japan's hit charts. This is a promotional picture used in her tour this year.Too bad she isn't even coming close to where I'm living.

Anyways, she is not the one I'm promoting today.

I was watching TV a couple of days ago and boy, was I surprised when they showed a music documentary about rap and hip hop in Tokyo. The groups they filmed were interesting
and one of them, Ya-Kyim, talked about their influences,that being among others, Salt-n-Pepa and TLC.

Me, being an inqusitive person, sought
to download a song for my own listening pleasure.
When I heard "Happy The Globe",
I really enjoyed the melody and the mix of the group, one being the MC, Miku, and the other two as singers, Alisa and Yurie.

So without further ado, please listen to the song. Arigatou gozaimashta!

The Virgins and Blake Lively <3

Blake Lively, ladies and gentlemen.

It's late, but last night's "Gossip Girl" (ep.9) got me paying more attention to the music than the actual plot for once.
(Not even Serena Van Der Woodsen/
Blake Lively was a distraction). A treat for all those
"The O.C" fans out there, "Gossip Girl"
has the same music director, mostly because Josh Schwartz
wanted the show to have the same hip, indie feeling as
the O.C once had.
A consequence of this is, that we get fresh, new bands being promoted
on an oft-watched show. On that note, I'd like to introduce
a new favorite band of mine:

The Virgins!

( I don't know if it's any specific reason for the name, but you can take a wild guess)

A NYC-based foursome consisting of Donald, Nick, Wade and Erik. Their sound is definitely something you can't resist,
the press calling it "indie-funk". I dig it and hopefully you will as well! They have an
EP out now, "The Virgins" and it contains songs like "Rich Girls", "Fernando Pando"
and "Love is Colder Than Death".

I'm getting their EP, are you?

Here's my favorite song at the moment. Rich girls, gotta love 'em.

ABOOT MOI

This is me. 22-year old Communications student. Love that shit. Love music, films and books. Basically. I'm a consumerist of epic proportions, spending money on the abovementioned items and video games. Can't stop loving them videogames. Holla!?
